    The Child Care Team is dynamic, supportive, and growing Are you ready to work with a team to make a difference in children's lives? We are looking for folks who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring Flexible shifts available during the week, Monday to Friday 7:00am-6:00pm.

    Reporting to the Child Care Supervisor, the Summer Program Leader is a key member of our Child Care team, who will:

    • Lead high quality program planning, incorporating the Y's values
    • Maintain safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
    • Build healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
    • Actively interacts with children ages 5-12 as a play partner and homework helper
    • Support implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sports
    • Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives

    We'd love to hear from people with:

    • Must be 19 years of age (as per provincial licensing standards)
    • Minimum 20 hours of professional development relating to children's health, nutrition, safety, development and/or guidance (Responsible Adult Certificate)*
    • Valid class 4 operator's license (is an asset)
    • Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C

    • Service Orientated:Deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to enhance each and every individual's YMCA experience. Creates action plans to resolve any service gap areas.
    • Relationship Building and Collaboration:Builds positive interactions, listens attentively and communicates effectively to create an open communication environment. Share information, best practices, and resources with colleagues.
