As a new Cook joining our Village Team, you will:
- Enrolled or completed the Chef training or hold a Culinary management diploma from a program that meets the standard established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities or equivalent
- Hold a valid Food Handlers certification
- Hold or be willing to obtain a SMART Serve certification
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Be able to lift up to 35lbs
- Have exceptional time management sills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
- Support and embrace our residentcentred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets including texture modification
- Have experience preparing large quantities of food, preferably in a health care or longterm care setting
- As needed Assist in serving meals and beverages to our residents ensuring we meet residents' diets and food preferences while following safe and sanitary food handling techniques
