Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Must be a member in good standing or immediate eligibility for membership in the Law Society of British Columbia;
- Level (LC 2/3) dependent on years of call with a minimum of six or more years of call to the bar in a Canadian jurisdiction;
- Recent experience negotiating, drafting and interpreting contracts and agreements;
- A broad range of corporatecommercial legal experience and
Have the following skills and abilities:
- excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines;
- strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to their work; and
- the ability to work effectively with others and as part of a legal team.
- Significant drafting experience customizing templates, bespoke drafting of complex and technical agreements and terms and conditions;
- General procurement knowledge and experience;
- Knowledge and experience dealing with legal issues associated with retail distribution;
- Specific experience dealing with legal issues associated with acquisition and management of information technology hardware, software and services;
- Experience identifying legal issues in the areas of corporate law, commercial transactions, finance, or commercial leasing;
- Extensive experience drafting legal opinions;
- Experience briefing senior executives/clients on strategic legal matters.
- Proviso:
- Travel may be required for this position.
