The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions leads the province of British Columbia (BC) in efforts to improve the mental well-being and reduce substance use-related harms for all British Columbians.

The ministry has overall responsibility for the development of a coherent, accessible, and culturally safe mental health and addictions system that is effective for individuals and families across the lifespan throughout the province.

The People and Culture Branch is responsible for the strategic vision and leadership for ministry human resource management programs, corporate initiatives, and workforce planning and analysis.


The Human Resources Coordinator supports the branch and ministry in human resources management, organizational development and engagement strategies and workforce planning.


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation; completion of a postsecondary degree or diploma in a related field such as human resources, public administration, business administration or communications may be preferred.
  • Experience coordinating and implementing corporate or ministry projects and/or programs.
  • Experience conducting research and providing preliminary findings to support program or product development.
  • Experience developing communications material (e.g., to promote events, speaking notes, etc.

Preference may be given to applicants:

  • With experience implementing corporate or ministry employee engagement programs.
  • With experience conducting human resources research and providing findings.
  • With experience in updating websites.
  • With experience in event planning, coordination and logistics.
  • Who have or are pursuing their Chartered Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
  • Who selfidentify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.

This position is excluded from union membership.
