Clement's School is currently looking for an Associate Teacher and Athletics Assistant ("Associate Teacher") to join our School for the School year commencing immediately.

The Associate Teacher works with classroom teachers to help support student learning and achievement through individual, small group, and whole class instruction.

Working with classroom teachers, the Associate Teacher assists in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

The hours of this role will most typically be 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Associate Teacher

Provide coverage for absent teachers, follow lesson plans provided, and ensure students are productive and achieve the goals of the lesson;

Step in, on an as-needed basis, as back up to supervise the Extended Day Program from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

, including time outdoors;
Support students one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce learning and retention under the supervision of the classroom teacher;
Actively contribute beyond the classroom in co-curricular activities, programs, and teams, including athletic coaching and special interest groups; and supervise off-site trips, including both day and overnight trips;
Supervise students during recess and lunch, including time outdoors; and

Participate in Professional Development opportunities where possible.

Athletics Assistant

Assist with scheduling and facility booking;
Host on-site Athletics competitions;
Provide coverage for when the Athletic Director is offsite; and

Support coaches with equipment and facility preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES OF OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

A post-secondary undergraduate degree, Honours preferred;
Ontario teacher qualifications and registration with the OCT (Intermediate/Senior, and comfort working from Grades 1 to 12);
Background in Health and Physical Education, Athletics, or Recreation an asset;
Instructional ability, recognizing and working with individual learning styles;
Approachable and creative with strong classroom management skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets;
High levels of energy with a patient, caring approach;
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity;
Supportive team player who is adaptable, able to learn quickly and think on their feet;
Represent St. Clement's School in a professional and positive manner; and

Clear criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.
