OUTREACH & EDUCATION COORDINATOR

The
Near North Palliative Care Network (NNPCN) is seeking an
Outreach & Education Coordinator in North Bay, Ontario.

If you possess proven interpersonal, organizing and computer skills, together with qualifications, motivation and project management capabilities, this opportunity may be of interest to you.

The Outreach & Education Coordinator will be required to help NNPCN restart and expand in-person pre-pandemic education and training sessions in a hybrid format (in-person and online trainees).

These include delivering grief and bereavement training in-person to the communities of the Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts, hosting Lunch and Learns to connect with community members, as well as having ongoing training for volunteers.

This position would also host events for socially isolated seniors with interactive activities, information about our services and educational workshops.

This position would also be key in expanding our volunteer base to remote Northern areas who have a lack of access to visiting hospice services and grief support.


Project Responsibilities:


  • Become well versed with NNPCN training materials (palliative care, bereavement support, advanced care planning).
  • Manage training/workshop schedule to train applicants, trainees, volunteers, and the public on palliative care, bereavement support, and other related fields/topics.
  • Become well familiarized with online learning management system to support NNPCN staff with applicant training.
  • Develop seminars to educate applicants/volunteers on palliative care and bereavement support.
  • Assist in administrative tasks for processing and managing volunteer applicants, placement students, and volunteers taking NNPCN training courses.
  • Have constant communication with volunteers to ensure volunteers are well supported (_i.e.,_ volunteer "checkins").
  • Ensure data management software (_i.e., _InfoAnywhere) is kept uptodate and accurate at all times.
  • Develop a plan of action to expand NNPCN to areas where service delivery is not well established.
  • Research communities to find partners to work with to bring awareness of NNPCN's services and to recruit potential volunteers.
  • Work with NNPCN staff to organize small awareness events.
  • Register prospective volunteers for the HPCO online training and facetoface training modules. To monitor their progress. To issue certificates of completion of training to graduate prospective volunteers.
  • Keep training attendance rosters of facetoface training sessions, workshops, volunteer meetings and other activities that require registration of attendance.
  • Schedule and organize volunteer activities.
  • Ensure ongoing engagement with, advocacy for, and support to volunteers.

Mandatory:3 References, updated immunization record for Ontario (to include full COVID-19 vaccination), Police Check for the Vulnerable Sector and valid current Ontario Driver's License.


Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract


Salary:
$20.00 per hour
