    This Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyman position will be based out of our shop at #24, 38403 Burnt Lake Crescent, Red Deer, AB. Travel and accommodation will not be provided to Red Deer.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Preventative maintenance on Highway tractors and trailers (Peterbilt, Kenworth), trailer mounted specialty pumper units
    • Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines & after treatment. (Cummins, CAT, Mercedes)
    • Hydraulic & PTO diagnostic and repair
    • Clutches, transmissions & differentials
    • Commercial Vehicle Inspections
    • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
    • Interpret work orders
    • Manage shop and delegate work
    • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations.

    Role Specifications:

    • Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman required
    • Valid Class 5 driver's license with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
    • Class 1 driver's license would be an asset
    • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
    • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
    • Must be able to provide your own tools

    Skills:

    • You're happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
    • You're meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs
    • Good communication skills, enjoy doing precision work, and solving problems
    • Your knowledge of Cummins, CAT and Mercedes engines would be an asset
