JOB DUTIES

Reporting to the Senior field and lab technician
Collecting branch samples in the field during all weather conditions
Driving on woods roads
Processing samples in a lab environment
Traveling to northern New Brunswick, spending up to ten (10) working days away from normal place of work.
Data recording, entry, and validation
Maintenance and cleanliness of workplace
Other tasks as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license, or its equivalent within the province of NB
Driver's abstract
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Functional written & verbal communication in English
Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel and proficient with computers.
As a condition of employment, applicant must be able to obtain security clearance through the Government of Canada Industrial Security Program and provide a drivers abstract.

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAD:

Related work experience
Bilingualism (English and French)
Comfort working in remote locations for extended periods of time with poor (or no) cellular reception.
Experience driving pickup trucks on logging / dirt roads
Special consideration will be given to students enrolled in programs related to the job duties (i.e., forestry, aviation, survey/GIS, or biosciences, etc.), or to those who have related job experience.
