What we are looking for:


As a member of the pharmacy department's team working collaboratively with the regulated pharmacy technicians and Clinical Pharmacists, you will provide safe and effective drug distribution services to Markham Stouffville Hospital and Uxbridge Hospital.

Under the direct supervision of pharmacy technician or pharmacist, the pharmacy assistant is responsible for the following:


Their duties involve:

Prepackaging medication
Maintain packaging equipment as per required cleaning schedule
Inventory management duties such as receiving orders and barcoding
Transport medication from pharmacy to patient care areas as required.

The expectation to complete regulation requirement with Ontario College of Pharmacist

After successfully completing delegation from a regulated technician, the pharmacy assistant may perform the following duties under the direct supervision of a regulated technician:
Filling unit dose medication carts
Preparing interim or first doses
Compounding following a master formulation

Pharmacy assistants may participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.


Work Schedule:

Primarily days and evenings including weekend rotations. Please note hours of work may change due to operational needs


Compensation:


BAND T:
$ $27.29 per hour


What you bring to the role:
Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Technician program
Proficient computer skills
Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills coupled with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work on projects as assigned
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Sound independent work habits coupled with proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
