    Description

    Adecco is currently in search of a Instrumentation Technician to join our client, a distinguished integrated oil and natural gas company based in Fort McMurray, AB.     • Location: Fort McMurray, AB
    • Shifts: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week
    • Job type: Full-time | Long term contract

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support to operations & maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required
    • Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs / replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
    • Participate in risk analysis work activities, develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
    • Develop, present and/or make modifications to scope of work for turnaround events as well as provide support to turnaround team during execution
    • Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work
    • Complete instrumentation engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements.
    • Prepare high quality (technically sound, timely, complete and cost effective etc.) design packages with well-understood scopes of work
    • Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
    • Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
    • Analyze instrumentation equipment data & historical failure information to produce equipment end of life strategies and obsolescence plans, or produce equipment failure reports
    • Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations

    Qualification:

    • Professional Engineer / Technologist or eligible for membership in APEGA/ASET
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by APEGA; or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist diploma.
    • Minimum 2-3 years of Instrumentation & Electrical Technician experience in Oil & Gas industry is required.
    • Experience in completing engineering work packages.
    • Must be local to Fort McMurray area or willing to relocate. (This is not camp based or FIFO role)
