- Location: Fort McMurray, AB
- Shifts: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week
- Job type: Full-time | Long term contract
- Provide technical support to operations & maintenance during troubleshooting activities to recover plant production, as required
- Review equipment test results and advise on the frequency & scope of maintenance activities or if repairs / replacements/equipment upgrades are needed
- Participate in risk analysis work activities, develop engineering solutions for various plant issues
- Develop, present and/or make modifications to scope of work for turnaround events as well as provide support to turnaround team during execution
- Make recommendations for the procurement of materials, equipment and services for assigned work
- Complete instrumentation engineering work packages for equipment reliability improvements.
- Prepare high quality (technically sound, timely, complete and cost effective etc.) design packages with well-understood scopes of work
- Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications
- Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
- Analyze instrumentation equipment data & historical failure information to produce equipment end of life strategies and obsolescence plans, or produce equipment failure reports
- Lead or provide technical support during incident investigations
- Professional Engineer / Technologist or eligible for membership in APEGA/ASET
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by APEGA; or Instrumentation Engineering Technologist diploma.
- Minimum 2-3 years of Instrumentation & Electrical Technician experience in Oil & Gas industry is required.
- Experience in completing engineering work packages.
- Must be local to Fort McMurray area or willing to relocate. (This is not camp based or FIFO role)
