Position Summary

As an
Accounting Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our finance team and contribute to critical accounting functions, including account reconciliations and reporting.

We are looking for a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a positive attitude.

  • Assist in the preparation of supporting working papers for financial statements, reports, and other accounting documents
  • Perform account reconciliation and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Credit card reconciliations, and coding of related receipts
  • Preparing and recording information for cost accounting purposes and other accounting or administrative duties as required.
  • Responsible for performing administrative tasks with respect to our finance department.
  • Other responsibilities may include filing, printing, photocopying, general errands, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements:


  • A valid driver's license with reliable transportation
  • 12 years of experience in an office administrative role
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Multitasking and timemanagement skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Must be able to type and perform data entry
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A positive, friendly attitude with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Minimum 40 hours per week Monday to Friday; must be flexible and willing to work overtime
  • Local to Central Alberta or willing to relocate to Central Alberta and work daily in our office near Blackfalds, AB

Assets

  • Postsecondary education in administration or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Sage 300 software
