    You have:

  • A University degree (Bachelor's) in a related subject such as child protection, gender, social work, social sciences.
  • Proficiency in French and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • A sound knowledge of safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse of vulnerable populations within and/or outside the international development eco-system with in-depth knowledge of safeguarding concepts.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing safeguarding programs or those related to gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response, protection of vulnerable populations, sexual exploitation and abuse prevention and response, or related fields.
  • Recent experience working in an international context, in international development, humanitarian assistance or other relevant experience.
  • Experience in drafting policies, writing briefing documents, developing, and implementing training programs.
  • Experience conducting investigations into sexual exploitation and abuse and/or child protection with a sound understanding and knowledge of trauma informed approaches.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information as well as reputation management.

  • Creating a vision and workplan for IDRC's safeguarding approach (policy, procedures, systems), including metrics and measurement for success, reporting and accountability.
  • Ensuring IDRC's safeguarding policy and procedures are aligned with IDRC's mandate, its strategic plan, and corporate objectives across the organization, in the Head Office and five Regional Offices.
  • Developing and maintaining IDRC responses and investigation procedures aligned to industry standards and legally compliant.
  • Designing and delivering safeguarding awareness and training sessions to ensure all staff and grantees (as appropriate) understand IDRC's safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as understand behaviors that are expected of them.
  • Monitoring IDRC's third-party whistleblower hotline and responding to open complaints expediently.
  • Joining an organization that values and models diversity, inclusion, and equity.
