Role Summary and Purpose

  • The Financial Analyst (FA) plays a crucial role in helping the company make informed, datadriven decisions. They are responsible for developing operational budgets and delivering monthly reports. The FA performs both financial and operational data analysis, looking for insights that can drive process improvements. They are heavily involved in all aspects of reporting across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Controller in developing the annual budget process, tools, and templates.
  • Lead the annual budget process, working with the Property Management team to create operating budgets for each property in the portfolio.
  • Monitor, investigate, and report on monthly budget variances.
  • Collaborate with management to help identify, investigate, and implement opportunities for increased efficiencies and improvements to our customer experience.
  • Analyze financial data, create forecasts, and use financial models to support strategic planning and decisionmaking.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions and drive process improvements.
  • Generate and distribute the construction financial summaries to the Developments team.
  • Assist the Controller in creating KPI's and other operational metrics.
  • Assist the Controller in creating Power BI dashboards.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • 4+ years of related professional experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (nested formula functions, VBA, etc.).
  • Experience building Excel models is an asset.
  • Experience with Power BI is an asset.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager software considered an asset.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional and diplomatic; sensitivity working with confidential information.

Pay:
$75,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekends as needed

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
