    ConocoPhillips Canada is recruiting a Manager, Commissioning and Start-Up, to play a key role in determining project requirements related to timely scope development, and appointment of a project commissioning team.

    Reporting to the Manager, Capital Projects, this position will be pivotal in interfacing with various disciplines and providing critical alignment between construction to steady state operations steams.

    Depending on the project size and complexity, this role supports Operational Assurance requirements during the early FEL stages during design reviews and operational readiness review completion on behalf of the steady state organization.

    Based out of our Calgary office, the successful candidate has proven troubleshooting abilities with experience in either construction, commissioning, or operations, and can adapt quickly to different projects and the project scopes of work while balancing project deliverables with the understanding of how changes will impact future operability.

    Project Sponsor for outside contractor company resources, ensuring contractor performance and alignment.
    Develop and align with the project organization the scope of the commissioning team.
    Supports the development of Operational Assurance deliverables and supports the development of ORR deliverables based on Gap Analysis.
    Accountable for the development and delivery of commissioning schedules required throughout the project's life.
    Development and management of specific organizational schedules, including commissioning and startup and personnel.
    Support the development of system data filing systems for area/unit packages.

    Responsible for the management of the walkdown of new equipment and systems both at fabrication facility and construction site to ensure installation is as per design and utilizing applicable software/process to ensure punch listing.

    Ensuring equipment is not brought into service until registration and documentation have been completed with the required regulatory body.

    A key member in the design phase to ensure suitable isolation standards are incorporated in design for both commissioning and ongoing operations.

    Ensuring that all commissioning documentation is given to the operating facility post-completion completion.
    Support completion hazard or risk studies and MOC's and ensuring operability is considered in risk mitigations studies.
    Project wide Communication of facility LUN and Transfer of control.
    Management of the development and incorporation into the main project. Of an acceptable commissioning estimate and budget.
    Establishing the management of training programs for a competent commissioning, operating, and maintenance team.
    Verifying the operations project, commissioning handover and responsibility philosophies.

    Manage the production of specific written commissioning procedures for each system and or each item of equipment covering all aspects of the commissioning process.

    Overall philosophy for the commissioning process, including safe operation and compliance with statutory requirements.
    Establishing and management of an appropriate commissioning organization (Project Dependent)
    Contribute to design and project reviews as agreed on with the Project Manager supporting design process, as required.

    Ensure all instrumentation, electrical tests, and check that punch listing is completed as per commissioning system including Verification Walk downs of new equipment, control systems, interlocks, and shutdown systems.

    Bachelor's degree in engineering or an Operations Certification with experience in commissioning and startup, and steady state operation.

    Minimum 10 years in the oil and gas industry and minimum of five years in commissioning or startup leadership.

    Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.

    The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license and a copy of a current drivers abstract.
