SUMMARY


The Sales Representative I position coordinates the efforts of Sales and Operations to provide a seamless flow of operational and technical information between the company and its client base.


Primary functions are to support operations in coordinating job information and data before and after the job, seeking out business opportunities, and closing sales to generate business for operations.

This position requires constant accessibility for the operations team during normal business hours and sometimes after hours, as required.

Must maintain contact with the client in order to insure all information and data required before a job is obtained in a timely fashion and all data the client requires after the job has been delivered to a satisfactory manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Call on assigned clients
  • Resolve client problems and complaints by providing research on problem areas and recommending corrective action.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Management Systems, including improvement of performance and reduction of nonconformities
  • Develop new clients for Core Laboratories Canada Ltd. services through personal visits, telephone calls and formal presentations.
  • Define target accounts based on activity or potential activity and remain in close contact with all clients and potential clients from these companies.
  • Develop and prepare bids and proposals for submission to clients.
  • Provide information to the Sales Supervisor regarding quotes and upload into the Client Management System
  • Supply clients with timely response, regarding, available testing, pricing, company information and inhouse analysis.
  • Maintain the client database through the Client Management System
  • Remain apprised on market activities and technology by utilizing online resources, industry contacts, attending technical seminars and maintaining contacts in related companies
  • Remain apprised of work in house.
  • Be aware of Quality Assurance in all daily work activities with the clients and report any problem or nonconformance to your manager and/or QA & Safety Department.
  • Collaborate with other sales personnel to ensure renewal of business. Identify and develop new business leads

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a high school diploma; previous sales experience preferred
  • Must be computer literate. Capable of using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Must exercise independent judgment. Must be proactive and have an enthusiastic approach. Ability to interact effectively with client and company personnel seeking information.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
