Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team.

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Manage full cycle accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, payroll, balance sheet analysis, and profit and loss statement analysis.
  • Assist with bookkeepingrelated duties such as composing royalty reports, handling WSIBrelated matters, and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
  • Prepare financial management reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning using variance analysis techniques.
  • Analyze costs and expenses associated with purchasing and inventory of raw materials.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions.
  • Manage licenses and royalties associated with intellectual property rights or product sales, including tracking royalty payments and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Lead the Accounting Department, providing direction and support to accounting professionals.
  • Utilize strong analytical and Excel skills to perform financial analysis and reporting tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide insights to support decisionmaking processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function and implement best practices.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends through continuing education and professional development.

Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information effectively

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is a must.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Account Edge or QuickBooks, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and provide strategic insights to support decisionmaking

$90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
