    Description

    What You Will Do:

    We are currently seeking a Senior Architectural Designer for our team in Toronto, ON.

    We focus on rail and transit facility design; with work on a wide variety of public and private sector projects as well.

    This opportunity will encompass working alongside senior leadership, management of production and technical drawings. This position does not limit you to one project phase; from design to development and from construction documentation to contract administration.

    Areas of Responsibilities:

    • Prepare working drawings for all projects in mainly Revit with some AutoCAD
    • Responsible for the creation of technical content including details to the highest standard of excellence while ensuring the design intent is consistently maintained throughout the project.
    • You will work closely with the Design Lead and coordinate with other staff members as well as coordinating all aspects of the project with the Mechanical, Electrical and Structural consultants.
    • Responsible for coordinating and communication within the production team.
    • Assist with resolving difficult operating tasks or drawing and specification production problems.
    • Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology
    • Work with Contract Administration Department in processing project Shop Drawings and administrative paperwork

    Education | Experience:

    Minimum Qualifications

    University Degree in Architecture or Diploma in Architectural Technology or current OAA member ( OAA Licensed Technologist)

    Minimum of 10+years of related experience

    • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
    • High-level ability to create, troubleshoot, and standardize Revit families.
    • Should have a solid understanding of BIM use and methodology from Design, Construction and Construction Documentation
    • Working knowledge of current local and international building codes; OBC, NFPA, OADA, LEED, and knowledge of related standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASHRAE, etc.
    • Excellent communication and time management skills.
    • Proficiency with Ontario Building Systems and Ontario Building Code
    • Excellent understanding of architectural documentation and construction techniques
    • Coordination of Architectural/Mechanical/Structural/Electrical components and consultants
    • Site experience
    • Strong leadership and relationship building skills.
    • Being able to take notes, create and distribute minutes of meetings.
    • Be task oriented – able to switch between tasks and projects easily.
    • Ability to work independently.
