Summary

The Production Supervisor coordinates the manufacturing of empty IV bags, extrusion tubing and plastics sub-assemblies using highly sophisticated automated equipment.

They monitor the activities of team members and machinery to meet the filling departments needs at the least cost, consistent with quality standards and specifications.

The position is responsible for performance management of team members in this area, promoting i-CARE / EMS / QMS programs, and meeting efficiency and budget targets.

Major Responsibilities / Activities

Setup, adjusts, troubleshoots and repairs the automated equipment on the line(s). Supply technical support to employees to resolve quality and equipment issues
Improve the effectiveness of all team members by providing documented training, coaching employees during feedback reviews, and daily activities to improve skills, providing recognition for good performance. Also ensures company policies are applied consistently and fairly and takes appropriate action to correct unacceptable behaviors.
Identify and implement Value Improvement Projects to reduce product cost or improve quality by monitoring scrap and efficiencies, reviewing results with employees and implementing IDEAs to improve processes.
Ensure all activities and products are in compliance with specifications and GMP's by reviewing all batch records, taking appropriate actions to respond to out of tolerance produce and identifying corrective actions to prevent nonconformances. Maintain the facility and equipment to meet all GMP and 6S requirements.
Meet financial commitments by ensuring that the budgeted labour standards are met throughout the year, as well as assisting in establishing budget, production standards and manufacturing expenses for the department for the next year

Qualifications:

Experience within a manufacturing operation
Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability.
Practical experience using Lean tools (6S, LSW, VM, DA, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping)

years of manufacturing experience.

People Management Experience people management, coaching and team development skills.
Strong communication skills, ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Strong ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
Selfmotivated with the ability to take a leading role in the continuous improvement cycle to reduce and improve product quality in the department.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel & PowerPoint, EBR, JDE GME and AS400\Kronos.
Good working knowledge of SOP's/specs, blueprints, PCS's and BOM's
Post Secondary education in Engineering or Science
