Position Highlights
provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in the area of property law on a variety of projects and matters. While the
range of real estate matters may be varied, there is a focus on working closely with business groups and project teams to
provide guidance and legal advice on the interpretation, drafting and negotiation of real estate related documentation. As an

What you'll do
- As a member of the Properties Legal team, your responsibilities would include:
- Understanding and effectively communicating BC Hydro's corporate values, vision, priorities, risks and initiatives.
- Providing high quality, timely legal advice at the practical and strategic level with respect to property law issues.
- Providing legal support in a variety of real estate matters, including with respect to Federal and Provincial Crown land
licences, permits and rights of way on privately owned, municipal, First Nation and Crown lands.- Communicating legal and strategic risks in an effective and concise manner.
- Working through legal issues to identify practical and innovative business solutions that assist BC Hydro in achieving its
and budget for work done by external legal counsel.
What you bring
- You will have a current membership (or eligibility for membership) in the Law Society of British Columbia, plus a minimum
- You have strong drafting, negotiating and interpersonal skills, and are able to communicate effectively.
- You are confident working with our business teams and are able to understand business objectives.
- You have excellent judgment when managing complex issues, especially under tight time pressures.
- You enjoy working in a team environment.
