    Brandt is currently looking for a Platform Team Lead - Structural in our Regina location. This position is responsible for the design and approval of Structural Engineering works, and preparing reports, estimates, and contracts.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the design and approval of Structural Engineering works associated with the construction of new buildings and renovations projects
  • Responsible for the design and detailing of Structural elements for all projects, including plans, technical details, and specifications
  • Lead the Structural design team as required through projects
  • Review and investigate preliminary Engineering options during the planning and schematic design process
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants as required
  • Preparation of cost estimates, tender contract documents, and Engineering reports
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications which meet Brandt's needs, and which comply with sound Engineering practices and standards
  • Investigate field and design problems and prepare reports
  • Review, evaluate, and improve upon Engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications
  • Perform Structural design calculations as required
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings for Structural systems including layouts & construction details
  • Perform the design and produce drawings for building Structural & foundation components
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and contractors
  • Complete site inspections during construction phase, coordinate and follow-up on project issues
  • Perform the contract administration (CA) duties on the projects including attending meetings, travel as required, submittal reviews, supplemental instructions, price requests, site inspection reports, meeting minutes and all other aspects of the projects
  • Collaborate with other internal building design departments (ie. Architecture, Interior Design, Mechanical, Electrical & Civil) to ensure project success
  • Project cost monitoring and schedule control as requested
  • Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), Structural Codes, and industry practice & regulations/applicable Codes having jurisdiction
  • Proficiency with Tekla, StaadPro, AutoDesk AutoCAD software is required. Proficiency with AutoDesk Revit software is considered an asset
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • LEED AP Certification would be an asset

  • Good written & verbal communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm and driven to succeed in a positive environment
  • Required Experience

  • 8+ years' experience in a Consulting Office preferred
  • Must have Structural Engineering degree
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (or other Provinces)
  • Candidates will be required to work on multiple projects and collaborate with a team of Architects, Engineers and Technologists
