    How You Will Contribute:

     Develop and implement automated tests to support production lines, ensuring seamless integration.
    • Provide essential test tools to the R&D team during prototype development phases.
    • Partner with contract manufacturers to test beta prototypes, pre-production, and high-volume production units.
    • Analyze production data to optimize test time and improve yields as production scales.
    • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for components, subsystems, and field failures.
    • Facilitate the transition of new products from lab environments to high-volume production across diverse sites.
    • Create and document fault isolation tools and troubleshooting guides to enhance operational efficiency.

    The Must Haves:

     Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Optical Engineering or Computer Science.
    • Proficiency with optical and RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and attenuators.
    • Minimum of 2 years in test automation software development using C#, Python, or Matlab.
    • Strong statistical analysis skills applicable to production environments (e.g., CPk analysis, Pareto charts).
    • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative setting.

    Nice to Haves:

     Experience in test engineering, including offshore production and debugging.
    • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
    • Proficiency with the Atlassian suite of tools (Bitbucket, Sourcetree, Jira, Confluence).
    • Fluency in oral and written French.
    • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time outside of Canada.

    Pay Range:

     The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $71, 000 - $113, 400Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

    Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
