Job Description:

Reporting to the VP Supply Chain & Operations, the DC Operations Manager is responsible for establishing an operating environment of continuous improvement for safer, more profitable and customer centric operations in 2 Distribution Centres, TW Longueuil in Quebec and Long Sault in Ontario._**He/she is responsible for achieving Distribution Center objectives such as: health and safety targets, customer service level, gross margins, expense control and employee engagements.

He/she is also responsible for budget development, performance monitoring and reporting.


Working hand in hand with the Operational Excellence team, The DC Operations Manager, will foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring and coaching his/her team and actively seek out continuous improvement opportunities.

He/she will ensure compliance to UAP Daily Management and operational standards.


_ Your responsibilities:
_


  • Lead Distribution Center leadership team in order to achieve Distribution Center objectives such as: health and safety targets, customer service level, gross margins, expense control and employee engagement.
  • Coach and develop his/her team.
  • Ensure compliance to UAP Daily Management standards and operational standards.
  • Ensure that UAP policies and procedures are implemented and followed with the support of the Distribution Centre leadership team.
  • Work with regional management team to review regularly feedback from our customers. Adapt and deploy strategies and tools to improve customer service levels.
  • In partnership with Operational Excellence team and regional management team, prepare business cases for investments at the Distribution Center level.
  • Responsible for the negotiation, implementation, and management of collective agreements, as well as the holding of CRT and CSST committees
  • In collaboration with the Operational Excellence team, put in place a culture of continuous improvement within the Distribution Centers and actively seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
  • In collaboration with Transportation team, responsible for negotiations with carriers.
  • Member of the regional management committee

Qualifications:

To join our team, you need:_**- 5 years of experience in managing DC operations.

  • Demonstrated success in managing gross profits, understanding of financial statements, and budgeting for largescale operations.
  • Passion for coaching and developing others.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of operational improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office and WMS.
  • Experience in the automotive aftermarket is an asset.
  • Experience in project management is an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
