Position Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and representation to healthcare providers, institutions, and professionals on a wide range of legal issues, including medical malpractice, risk management, patient rights, and healthcare regulations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to assess the merits of potential cases, develop legal strategies, and provide informed advice to clients.
- Review medical records, expert reports, and other evidence to evaluate liability, causation, and damages in medical malpractice claims.
- Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and discovery requests, in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and settlement negotiations, and represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, expert witnesses, and consultants to strengthen legal arguments and support case strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards, and advise clients on compliance requirements and risk management practices.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, correspondence, and billing records, and ensure timely communication with clients regarding case developments and updates.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders to enhance the firm's reputation and business development efforts.
- Mentor junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, providing guidance, feedback, and training as needed.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience practicing law, with a focus on healthcare law and medical malpractice litigation.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and standards of care, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
- Proven litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in legal work.
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed to meet client needs and case demands.
Salary:
$40,520.39-$204,953.85 per year
