Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services, the Oracle System Specialist is responsible for the management, configuration and testing of our Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM environments as well as providing training on its use.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

Security Management

  • Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary measures to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ensure there are no segregation of duties issues in Oracle Fusion
  • Manage any segment level security built in the system.
  • Manage profile settings in the system at a system and user level.
  • Maintain "rolebased security" in YYC's Fusion system.

User Support and Training

  • Provide technical support to all users (admin users, business users and endusers) on all aspects of the system and troubleshoot issues related to Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM.
  • Make configuration changes to the system and reports as requested by users.
  • Where the Oracle System Analyst can't resolve a user's issue, they will work collaboratively with our Tier 2 support partner and/or the vendor (Oracle) to provide the solution.
  • The Oracle System Analyst will maintain a knowledge base of solutions for future reference.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and materials to educate users on how to use the system and on new features. A library of system training materials, which will include user guides, will be developed, and maintained by the Oracle System Analyst

Configuration Management

  • Maintain a configuration workbook for YYC's Oracle Fusion system.
  • Ensure at any given time, our configuration in the system is up to date.
  • As changes and enhancements are made ensure our configuration workbook is appropriately updated

Ad Hoc Reporting

  • Build and test Ad Hoc reports as required.
  • Become YYC's primary expert on Oracle Fusion reporting tools such as Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) and SmartView
  • Organize and manage YYC's central repository for Fusion reports.
  • Support other users that are building their own ad hoc Fusion reports.
  • Ensure security associated with reporting is appropriate for YYC's userbase.

Enhancement Projects

  • This role will be a primary resource for all Oracle Fusion enhancement projects.
  • The Oracle Systems Analyst will be responsible for the full development lifecycle of enhancement projects

Duties include:

  • Requirements gathering
  • Configuration changes as required by the project.
  • Quality Assurance Testing
  • Conducting User Acceptance Testing sessions
  • Change Management
  • Training and documentation of all project deliverables.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A minimum of 5 years in a system specialist role with deep knowledge of Oracle ERP and EPM.
  • Knowledge of security principles for an ERP system.
  • Skilled at working with endusers and a Tier 2 support partner to resolve system issues and problems.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and translating these into system configurations.
  • Prior experience training endusers on how best to use a system.
  • Experience in testing of system changes and the process of migrating changes from a test environment to a production environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office tools, especially Excel. Prior experience building Oracle reports with OTBI.
  • Good ability to read, interpret and understand IT technical specifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills as there are many competing priorities in this position.
  • Excellent communication skills. This position liaises with a large number of coworkers, contractors and other partners and excellent communication skills are vital.
  • Ability to make accurate and timely decisions within their area of influence for services under their direction while keeping others that need to know informed of what is going on.
  • Excellent relationship building skills. An ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, contractors and vendors are key to being successful in this role.
