Job Purpose
Assists in providing maximum equipment availability, direction of new initiatives quality of services and cost within safety and environmental standards by performing the following duties personally: Leads maintenance planning direction, planning tools and procedures, software developments, new reports and software changes in order to ensure functionality and ease of use in order to design and implement effective tools to help maintenance departments achieve world class maintenance planning


Accountabilities

  • Leads innovation and advancement in the use of effective, intuitive planning tools.
  • Ensures the training use and adherence of optimized planning tools and procedures to achieve the 13 week maintenance planning cycle compliance.
  • Leads continuous development of Kiln and Mill shutdown planning policies, procedures and VCNA standards for correct scope, cost, logistics and timelines while optimizing project plan at each step.
  • Leads the plant Maintenance Planners on most effective ways to ensure cement group alignment /standardization.
  • Integral in the development of strategies, policies and procedures to optimize critical spare parts and maintenance MRO levels across cement group. Works directly with analysis tools, FMEA results and criticality evaluations and feedback to, share critical spares and optimize and stores stock levels
  • Leads the development, tracking, reporting and evaluation of all maintenance KPI's.
  • Leads rollout and training/retraining of all maintenance and operations related software and reports across the group.
  • Leads the continuous development of VCNA Maintenance and Operations budgeting tools.
  • Provide plant to plant comparisons/benchmarks on cost, maintenance and operations practice for developing VCNA best practice within budgets, maintenance planning
  • Development, management and reporting on budgets and accounts of Capex projects undertaken by Corporate Maintenance.
  • Liaison with Engineering and Capex group for alignment on projects and obtaining overall Capex project acceptance according to best maintenance practices.
  • Maintenance lead in the development and optimization of vendor managed stock and shared critical spares between the business units across the group in order to reduce MRO without risk.
  • Serve as a role model in areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company's vision and critical success factors.

Requirements:


  • Expert in maintenance knowledge in regards to maintenance planning and scheduling, condition based maintenance
  • Expert working knowledge of SAP maintenance software, planning tools, SAP Ariba, MS Office, and MS Project. CMMS systems and accounting techniques and good mechanical aptitude.
  • Expert in equipment troubleshooting, RCA and availability optimization.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lead and act as a "change agent" to implement new maintenance planning techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers/Contractors or employees of organization.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • BS degree from fouryear college or university (Engineering degree a plus) or; equivalent combination of education/trade and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years related experience and/or training
  • Experience of 24/7 manufacturing processes such as mining, milling, kiln operation, process control, and condition based maintenance.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Mechanical expert with sound electrical understanding/experience is preferred.
