Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships by leading and participating in tax planning and compliance services to corporations, partnerships, trusts and individuals.
- Remain current with changes in federal and provincial tax legislations and legal precedents.
- Stay informed of general and business developments / practices and their impact on our clients.
- Be able to identify tax planning opportunities and to complete those plans for the benefit of the firm's clients.
- Able to complete research on technical tax topics and preparation of planning correspondence to the firm's clients.
- Able to work and communicate clearly with management, lawyers and advisors to the completion of the tax engagement.
- Generate new business opportunities by identifying opportunities with the firms clients and other interested parties.
Qualifications and Experience
- CPA designation.
- Completed in depth tax course.
- 5+ years of tax practice experience working in public practice.
- Ability to work independently.
- Well organized and efficient, must be able to interact with staff and clients in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to work on multiple engagements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Sound decisionmaking ability and professional judgment.
- Strong problemsolving capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Plan and manage assurance engagements to the completion of financial statements for the firm's clients.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with our clients.
- Work directly with clients and advisors to address complex accounting concepts and problem solve issues that may arise.
- Stay informed of general and business developments / practices and their impact on our clients.
- Preparation of complicated working papers and appropriate support for completion of financial statements on files.
- Generate new business opportunities by promoting the firm's expertise and services, as well as developing ideas and solutions.
- Work as a crucial link between partners and accounting staff.
- Train and develop junior accounting staff.
- Comfortable working in a paperless environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- CPA designation.
- 15+ years public accounting experience, including financial statement and corporate tax preparation.
- Comfortable working with complicated structures and integrated consolidated financial reporting.
- Proficient in assurance engagements and strong knowledge of changing reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Experience working with CaseWare/CaseView, is essential along with familiarity with TaxPrep.
- Knowledge of multiple industries an asset.
- Ability to work on multiple engagements at the same time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Proven abilities in the areas of accounting, assurance and tax compliance services.
- Sound decisionmaking ability and professional judgment.
- Works effectively, independently and in a team environment.
- Good mentoring skills and ability to lead staff to complete tasks.
- Strong problemsolving capabilities.
