Purpose:

Under the direction of the Manager, Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, Aquatics and First Aid, the Summer Assistant - Development provides support for Convenors and Referees in Intramural Leagues, Tournament and Special Events.

supports the planning, developing, promoting, executing and evaluating a variety of programs aimed at skill and leadership development.

The Athletics & Recreation ? Intramural unit provides a wide variety of sport leagues, tournaments, recreational, and development programs to the York University and surrounding communities.

The programs provide exceptional opportunities for student engagement and building connections with surrounding communities.

Education:

Training in team development and mentorship an assetReferee certifications an assetCurrent Standard First Aid/CPR Certification (current for three years) throughout contract require

Experience:

Skills:

Knowledge of and skill in developing on-line learning platforms.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of league and tournament operation.
High energy, enthusiastic, outgoing individual.
Proven organizational skills, creative thinker.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of word processing software (i.e. Word, Excel. Power Point).Demonstrated ability to remain professional, respectful, and unbiased.
Responsible and reliable, strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
