Cleaner/Facilities Assistant


Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Cleaner/Facilities Assistant will be responsible for the day to day custodial, set-up and preventive maintenance duties at our Lower School Campus in Richmond Hill.

Duties will include housekeeping, security, daily/weekly inspections, kitchen/dining hall cleaning, snow removal and ice control, cleaning washrooms and hallways, moving supplies and equipment, setting up spaces for events and occasional minor plumbing, painting and mechanical work.

This position is Monday through Friday from 2pm-11pm.


Qualifications/Skills/Experience:


  • Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with contractors and staff
  • Physically able to perform a full range of cleaning duties including the ability to lift 25 lbs., work at heights above 8ft., and to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Experience using heavy duty machinery(e.g. snow blower) is considered an asset
  • Selfstarter with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
