The Specialist is a key member of the Transplant Services team and is responsible for supporting the implementation of a suite of initiatives across Trillium Gift of Life Network's strategic priorities.

The Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting the Manager in delivering on the Transplant strategy and associated program work areas.

The Specialist will work with different stakeholders to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of the Transplant program to drive excellence in organ and tissue donation and transplantation.


Here is what you will be doing:

Program/Operational Support- Develops work plans, identifying the necessary resources and/or support required to meet objectives, and taking initiative to seek out those resources and supports.

This includes working closely with clinical experts, performing literature reviews and environmental scans, and contributing to presentations.- Works with the Manager in planning, managing, and monitoring major projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.- Identify and escalate program risks to the Manager; propose recommendations to address the issues identified.- Applies project management processes and tools.- Support governance structures including working groups and committees as required.- Develops various products to support internal and external communication, reporting and decision-making, including but not limited to briefing notes, reports, presentations and data analysis using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communications skills, with ability to express complex concepts effectively.- Manage multiple complex projects concurrently within timelines.


Data Analysis and Reporting- Research, analyze and generate information and maintain a detailed knowledge of data to support quality improvement initiatives, strategic implementation and performance monitoring.- Works in collaboration with the Health Informatics team to conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses and produce reports to support project and/or program goals, as required.- Coordinates preparation internal and external reports through gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and information from the departments.


Stakeholder Engagement- Develop and foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to health care providers, administrators, patient and family advisors, analytics teams, and committees.- Provide support and coordinate meetings for internal and external groups, including organizing meeting logistics, preparing meeting materials, tracking action items, and ensuring appropriate follow up.- Maintains documentation as required.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience- Required undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (health sciences, public health, health services research, health or business administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Master ́s degree is preferred.- Required: Minimum three to five years of related experience working within the healthcare sector.- Demonstrated successful project management and change management experience.- Experience in analyzing, synthesizing and summarizing information into summaries reports, briefs, business cases and other documents.- Experience with qualitative and quantitative analysis including systematic literature reviews.- Experience partnering with internal and external stakeholders to advance the quality agendas.- Demonstrated ability to work, both as a member of a team and independently, using sound judgment.- Experience organizing and coordinating small and large meetings for various stakeholders.


Knowledge and Skills- A strong understanding of the Ontario health care system; previous experience working in a hospital is an asset.
