Key responsibilities include:


  • Development, implementation and monitoring of apron and ground handling plans, programs and procedures which facilitate effective aircraft and groundhandling/vehicle operations on YVR's aprons
  • Leading development and delivery of new programs and initiatives supporting apron operations to improve efficiency, safety and modernization under the guidance of the Manager, Apron Operations
  • Management of programs requiring delivery by contract partners acting as lead interface
  • Evaluate and monitor processes for continuous improvement of the Ground Handler KPI Program, Airside Vehicle Operations Program and other apron programs
- hazard identification and risk assessments
- root cause analysis and corrective action plans
- conducting formal occurrence investigations
- maintaining compliance documentation and monitoring effectiveness of corrective action plans

  • Contract and program performance auditing and follow up
  • Management of Ground Handling contract administration and KPIs
  • Leading and facilitating stakeholder relationships through committees and working groups including initiating and leading action to resolve issues or anticipate future needs and program changes to support business partners and stakeholders changing needs

Key qualifications include:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, aviation or related discipline or equivalent airport or industry experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in a dynamic, operational environment with multiple stakeholders and competing needs with direct Airport experience as an asset
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making and problemsolving skills
  • Expertise in effective time management and demonstrates strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work and make decisions in a complex, technical environment with mínimal supervision
  • A selfstarter who demonstrates an ability to bring stakeholders together to achieve effective solutions to operational and safety problems
  • Ability to diplomatically facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders that may have differing opinions or making operational decisions with limited supporting information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including presenting to large groups
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fastpaced, dynamic work environment
  • Exceptional conflict resolution skills with a commitment to customer service delivery
  • Some evenings/weekend shift work hours may be required in support of operational planning and emergencies (e/g weather)
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to obtain a D/A AVOP license, as well as drive in all weather conditions, day and night
