    We are looking for an enthusiastic and keen individual to fill a Material Planner position for a 12 month contract. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Planning, the Materials Planner is responsible for planning and purchasing of materials to support Co-pack operation, Field Sales Merchandizing, E-shop and Lindt Retail Stores requirements by developing highly optimized plans that improve service level, optimize costs, and enable the organization to deliver its objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain effective, optimal and up-to-date Materials Supply Plan for the assigned portfolio
    • Formulate buying strategy and optimize number of purchases & deliveries to minimize standard cost variances and warehouse space utilization
    • Define and maintain planning parameters and Master Data on SKU level, including safety stock and inventory coverage targets
    • Partner with Co-pack, Intercompany Supply, Retail and Marketing to gather insights and make appropriate purchasing & scheduling decisions
    • Create and manage purchase orders for materials using JDE and SAP/IBP. Assist Finance with invoice reconciliation when required
    • Assess the impact of demand changes or significant consumption variances in co-pack and recommend/implement appropriate revisions to the Supply Plan
    • Timely identify (potential) materials shortages and escalate to resolve as quickly and efficiently as possible
    • Build collaborative relationships with suppliers to timely identify and mitigate supply risks: inventory availability, schedule changes and capacity constraints
    • Maintain and analyze vendors' scorecards. Spearhead performance improvement initiatives
    • Report materials with quality issues to suppliers and lead Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process
    • Support the product life cycle process by cooperating with various cross-functional stakeholders on new product launches, line extensions, product discontinuations, etc.
    • Identify potential excess inventory and lead risk mitigation activities. Manage monthly material disposal process
    • Actively participate in Budget process
    • Utilize systems (Cognos, DAS, etc.) to create and analyze KPI reports. Perform root cause analysis and devise action plans to improve metrics
    • Act as a back-up to the Co-pack Planner
    • Drive supply chain efficiency through Continuous Improvement of materials planning processes, systems, and tools

    Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary education in Business/Supply Chain or a related field
    • 2-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning. Materials Planning experience preferred
    • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and make decisions based on available information
    • JDE or any other ERP system experience is required
    • SAP/IBP experience is an asset
    • High-level proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
    • Drive for achieving and surpassing targets. Passion and commitment to Continuous Improvement
    • Strong Communication and Collaboration skills
    • Ability to effectively present and communicate at various levels of the organization
