Habitat Food Services is in search of a highly motivated and energetic
Catering & Front of House (FOH) Manager to join our talented team


Job Purpose:


The Catering & FOH Manager will work closely with the Executive Chef, General Manager (off-site), and culinary team to execute internal and external events and meetings and café operations.


As a key member of the leadership team, you will help to provide a supportive and collaborative work environment where ideas and feedback are always welcomed.

As a guest facing team member, you will be passionate about upholding the standards and reputation of the company and ensure health and safety practices are being followed and maintained.

The Catering & FOH Manager will also support Truffles Catering event needs when called upon.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Works closely with the Executive Chef to motivate and lead a team of professionals while creating and maintaining a positive, safe and learning environment.
  • Works closely as part of a team to execute internal and external events to the expected high standards.
  • As part of the leadership team, identifies opportunities to continuously improve upon what we do.
  • Packages equipment for events and cleanup/take down upon completion of events.
  • Setup, delivery, and service of food and beverage events throughout the campus to both internal departments and external organizations.
  • Recruits and trains FOH team members in the expectations and standards of our workplace, service delivery and our culture.
  • Provides coaching and performance management.
  • Works with the Executive Chef to ensure Royal Roads University booking software is monitored and up to date for events.
  • Creates schedules for café and catering operations.
  • Undertakes daily sales tracking.
  • Assesses staffing needs, ensure accurate billing, and inventory counts.
  • Orders liquor, equipment, and other inventory needs as directed by the GM and Executive Chef.
  • Is an ambassador and the face of our business, especially when greeting our guests and providing a welcoming environment.
  • Creating memorable and lasting guest experiences by providing outstanding customer service.
  • Handles cash and managing transactions through a pointofsale (POS) system.
  • Supports Truffles Catering events when needed.
  • Supports café/coffee shop as needed.
  • Contributes and participates within a team of positive, highachievers who care about their guests and the company they are representing.
  • Such other and unrelated duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Employer.

Position Details:
This is a full-time opportunity that requires availability to work weekends, weekdays, evenings, and holidays.

Hours of work will vary depending on catering requests which are usually daytime Monday to Friday, with the requirement of weekend and evenings as needed especially through the summer months.


  • Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Previous shift leader or management experience in a catering and events, banquets environment.
  • Food Safe and Serving It Right certifications required.
  • A welcoming, positive, and customerfocused personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment and be highly organized.
  • Ability to work independently and within a closeknit team.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license and your own reliable transportation.
  • Has a deep love of F&B and the belief in its ability to motivate, inspire, educate and entertain.
  • POS (Point of Sale) experience is valuable.
  • Recommended Training:
  • Foundations of Workplace Safety (includes WHMIS)
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 by Distance Education
