OVERNIGHT ROVING DIRECT SUPPORT WORKER (FULL-TIME)

Kitchener-Waterloo, ON:


KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities.

We support individuals to live a fulfilling life which is fostered through preschool and early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community participation, and employment supports.

We are looking for an experienced Direct Support Worker to join our team. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to person directed support and the vision of KW Habilitation.

Requirements:


  • Post-Secondary education in a Human Services, or enrolled in a postsecondary institution and attending school
  • Six months related experience (experience working/volunteering with people who have a developmental disability preferred)
  • Able to provide physical assistance where applicable (e.g., lifting, transfers) and behavioural support as required
  • Able to implement positive behavioral approaches, work as an integral part of the team and demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate creative problemsolving and decisionmaking, initiative, resilience, and collaboration
  • Commitment to providing person directed support, fostering independence, and advocating for others
  • Current First Aid, NVCI, and computer skills are also essential qualifications
  • Reliable transportation.

Immediately


Hours:
Friday night to Sunday night, and every other Thursday from 11pm to 9am (70 hours over a two-week period)


Rate of Pay:
$38, $42,042
