ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

(TEMPORARY PART TIME)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A Temporary Part Time Accounts Payable Clerk position is available within our Finance Department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

This position is unionized with UNIFOR, Local 1106.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for full cycle payments, timely recording and processing of Accounts Payable invoices
Ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies encountered in processing and matching purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices through the Meditech integrated MM/AP system. Liaise with buyers and receiving staff to clear discrepancies and resolve problems when processing invoices
Responsible for activities such as monthend accruals, receipt accruals and aged payables
Process EFT/Cheque payment run as assigned following hospital policy and procedures including filing backup for each payment
Identify and code payments in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency requirements for HST, taxable services, taxable benefits, etc
Provide any required production, efficiency, statistic, management, continuous quality improvement or other reporting/information
Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with internal and external inquiries
Responsible for the prioritization of the daily work flow

QUALIFICATIONS:

Postsecondary training in Accounting and/or Accounts Payable required

Introduction to the MIS Guidelines for Acute Care
E-Learning
Ability to handle confidential issues/information in a professional manner
Experience in a Hospital Finance department an asset
Satisfactory performance and attendance required
Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired

HOURS OF WORK:

Day shifts, Monday to Friday

SALARY:

- $ $25.49 per hour
