This full-time temporary position is located in the Parry Sound office for a term of up to twelve (12) months.

The Child and Youth Worker (CYW) delivers a wide range of hands-on support services.

Services are provided but not limited to children and families in the child welfare system, resource parents, kin providers and to children and caregivers throughout the community.

All actions are performed according to the Society's policies, procedures, Ministry standards and guidelines and the vision, mission, values and overall strategic direction of PARNIPCAS.

This position is within the Bargaining Unit.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Child and Youth Diploma.
  • Consideration will be given to other Human Services qualifications in combination with related experience.
  • Experience in behaviour interventions with youth.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with children and adults.
  • Ability to incorporate a solid understanding of the impact of early childhood adversity and how it affects individuals' actions and reactions.
  • Valid Ontario class "G" Drivers Licence, satisfactory Drivers abstract, and vehicle required.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of privacy and confidentiality in the performance of duties.
  • Experience working with families and children preferably in child welfare is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

Salary:
$54,823.00-$66,051.00 per year
