Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Manager for our Etobicoke Program, which provides 24-hour residential rehab, as well as community, group, and day programming for acquired brain injury (ABI) survivors.

We provide a multidisciplinary / customized approach to address the specific brain injury sequelae of each client, which may include physical, cognitive, and/or psychological deficits; as well as concurrent mental, behavioural, and/or substance abuse challenges.


This position is based out of our Etobicoke Residence, which is a group-home setting equipped with multidisciplinary treatment rooms, a physiotherapy gym, administrative offices, and a 'clubhouse' where adult group programming occurs three times per week.

We maintain a safe, stable, and homely environment that is conducive to effective care and rehabilitation, with virtual and community programming options.

Overall, our team strives to support ABI survivors with their recovery through executing functional, meaningful, and productive programs.

As the Program Manager, you will be directly involved in each client's care, and accountable / responsible for all aspects of the program.

Job Qualification

  • Group Home Management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years front line Acquired Brain Injury experience (residential/communitybased).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Intervention certification.
  • Valid G driver's license, access to reliable vehicle and appropriate auto insurance to transport clients
  • Flexibility: hours can vary depending on client census and are to be adapted to clients and their programs, which may require evenings and weekends, as well as remote availability for emergencies and crisis situations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Leadership skills staff supervision, direction, feedback, administration, motivation
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, positive attitude
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Professional succinct and clear verbal and written communication
  • Understanding of rehab models, including the prescriptive model of care
  • Understanding of mental health, behavioural, and substance abuse interventions
  • Highlevel critical thinking / analytical skills
  • Ability to be proactive as well as adapt to the program changing "on the fly" / unpredictable client responses, high pressure situations, navigating difficult clientele
  • Ability to follow direction from senior management and discipline specialists
  • Experience and knowledge of the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS), Insurance Act and WSIB is preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for employees, clients (community and residential based), clinical programming, site maintenance, goal attainment, and frontline work
  • Provision of strong leadership and support to front line staff and colleagues
- leading by example, precedent setting, role modeling

  • Staff management: hiring, scheduling, termination, 3month reviews, annual performance reviews, etc.
  • Working under the direction of senior management
  • Participation in oncall rotation every 5 weeks
  • Client intakes, program planning, and evaluation: ensuring strategies / procedures are put in place as deemed appropriate and prescriptive models are followed
  • Administrative tasks to include staff/client schedules, payroll, petty cash, daily tracking and documentation, medication management, report writing, etc. as per ICS NRIO and Bayshore systems
  • Liaising professionally with clients, families, rehabilitation teams, external referral sources and anyone involved with a client's program
  • Understanding of brain injury / dual diagnosis and ability to effectively communicate treatment rationale
  • Leadership pertaining to accreditation, legislative knowledge, safety, risk management, clinical innovation and action plans to benefit the other NRIO sites and programs
  • Following Bayshore policies and procedures, including Human Resources and Health & Safety requirements
