This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 28 November 2023 and closing at 11:59 pm on 5 December 2023.


JOB SUMMARY:


The Central Booking Specialist reports directly to the Senior Manager Patient Access & Chart Management and is responsible for monitoring and providing support to the Central Booking team.

The Central Booking Specialist will monitor and support team chats, appointments being booked, conduct call quality assurance and escalate issues to the Supervisor as required.

This role will also be responsible for training Central Booking Clerks, and providing overall support to team members.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • 23 Years Recent Scheduling experience required;
  • Proven experience with template building and management (tested);
  • College diploma in a related field;
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Keyboarding skills of 35 w.p.m. (tested);
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
  • Proven ability to work well in a high paced environment with frequent interruptions;
  • Proven ability to work with mínimal supervision and to demonstrate initiative and be a selfstarter;
  • Proven attention to detail;
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritization, organizational and timemanagement abilities;
  • Must have satisfactory performance record;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;
  • Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular inservice education in this area; and,
  • Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and the capability of maintaining that same standard;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.


Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
