Learning and Development Manager
32 hours/week
London, Ontario
The Learning and Development Manager promotes and facilitates professional learning both within Karis Disability Services and with other stakeholders.
They will be a key member of the Workplace Learning team, composed of people from all Districts and the Waterloo Office, and will work collaboratively with them.
They will coordinate and facilitate the delivery of courses within the District.Responsibilities:
- Ensure delivery of courses to Karis Disability Services employees and to staff from external organizations.
- Conduct "Train the Trainer" sessions that ensure a quality transfer of teaching techniques in a professional manner.
- Review Districtspecific guidelines and participate in the strategic plan as it relates to education.
- Develop an overall plan that addresses when, where, and how often courses will be offered in the year.
- Ensure the development of a Districtwide education schedule every three months based on agency timelines.
- Coordination of Kari Disability Services staff registrations for internal and external courses, including confirmation notices for attendees.
- Supervise and ensure course completion records are entered into the database.
- Design, create, and develop learning modules/material to meet the professional development of employees in meeting the organizational and District goals of support to individuals and staff.
- Work in partnership and provide feedback to the Learning Resource Manager for revisions and refinement to Karis Disability Services' course content.
Requirements:
- 12 years of previous experience in a similar position
- College Diploma
- DSW or BA with a focus on Social Services any education and experience designing and developing education curriculum and materials considered an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, and time management skills.
- Must be able to exercise initiative and display independence and judgement in the performance of duties.
