About the Role


The WCB is seeking a service-oriented, adaptable individual to join its Corporate Operational Resources team as a
Project Manager, Residential Renovations.


The Project Manager, Residential Renovations facilitates and coordinates the delivery of renovations to the homes of injured workers and serves as the key contact to ensure quality outcomes.

The Project Manager, Residential Renovations achieves these outcomes through timely management and coordination of renovation projects, effective communication skills, and extensive knowledge of the residential construction industry in Nova Scotia.


The role is responsible for working with respective stakeholders, while championing best practice, to coordinate a solution to meet the medical needs of the injured worker.

The role is responsible to ensure the scope is captured properly; make recommendations on awards; monitor the project costs during construction in line with the budget; and evaluate, track and (where delegated) approve/recommend project change orders.


The role develops the required documents and provides recommendations to the appropriate stakeholders to procure contractors to complete the work.

It also monitors construction for quality, schedule, and budget (and escalates issues as required to the manager); and coordinates required signoffs by all parties at the completion of the project.

The incumbent will use various means of communication throughout the process to ensure all stakeholders have timely updates as to the status of the project.

The role carries out regular project site visits to ensure work is being done safely, to a high standard of quality, on time, and to provide an opportunity for the homeowners to raise concerns.


  • Minimum of a twoyear diploma in building and manufacturing fields or related.
  • 5 years' experience coordinating and managing projects in the residential construction industry.
  • Home Inspection certification would be considered an asset.
  • Practical knowledge of various residential building systems (e.g. structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or carpentry) is required as well as a working knowledge of the respective codes and standards.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with various stakeholders is required.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings is required.


As safety champions, all employees are responsible for following safe work procedures; using personal protective and safety equipment as required; knowing and complying with all regulations; reporting any illness or injury immediately to their manager; reporting unsafe acts and unsafe conditions; and cooperating with occupational health and safety initiatives.

We offer a competitive compensation package including a salary range of
$69,362 - $86,698.
