    Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Cash Management and Business Banking, the Vice-President, Commercial Banking, Products, Solutions and Channels has overall responsibility for the strategic development, management and profitability of the business deposits, cash management products, electronic delivery channels and data in the context of the overall Commercial strategy.

    The role is accountable to build revenue and enhance the client experience, while addressing the unique needs of clients in the commercial and wholesale banking segments.


    The provision of guidance, strategic direction and leadership relative to the management of established products and the creation of new products and business offers to deliver a superior client experience.

    The effective development and management of internal relationships across segments and other partners and stakeholders.

    Ensuring the end-to-end competitiveness and profitability of deposit products, cash management products and electronic delivery channels.


    Business Technology, Data Governance and Special Initiatives - overall responsibility to establish, build and manage a Centre of Excellence for Commercial Banking data governance and oversee some of the Commercial and Business Banking technology applications.

    Guide the innovation, development, production, pricing, promotion and delivery of deposit and payment products and services to achieve planned results, and manage risk.


    Monitor, analyze, and review business trends and operating patterns related to the major strategies and ensure the development and implementation of appropriate responses.

    Follow established business case and project management disciplines.


    Develop and leverage portfolio, product, segment and client analytics to optimize ongoing profitability and identification of sales and pricing opportunities.


    Develop strong relationships with industry associations to stay abreast of changing industry trends and research as input to new product development, pricing and marketing.


    Foster relationships with key business partners (Relationship Teams, Client Sales Support, Technology, Risk Management, Personal and Business Banking, Global Capital Markets, AML, Project Delivery, Legal, etc.) Provide opportunity for learning and development in the technically complex area of Commercial Banking products and services.

    Digital Channels


    Provide counsel to the Senior Vice-President on a wide range of topics, related to digital Channels as it relates to Commercial, Corporate and Business Banking.

    Oversee, cultivate and manage all vendor (direct and indirect) relationships and contracts related to all channels and products.

    Recommend and implement solutions to problems/issues that impede the growth and success of our Digital Channels.


    Support the monitoring and management of Digital Channels and User Experience cost structures for both direct and support costs, ensuring effective use of corporate resources.

    Ensure a robust customer experience with competitive differentiation for Commercial, Corporate and Business Banking and Advice.

    Support the drive for adoption and usage of digital channels to support Commercial, Corporate and Business Banking needs.

    Manage the digital channels project portfolio to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget.


    Act as executive sponsor for all digital channels related governance, project oversight and risk management activities relating to Commercial, Corporate and Business Banking.

    Relationship development and management of CIBC's digital channel strategic partners.

    Business Technology, Data Governance and Special Initiatives


    Oversight of an integrated data strategy for CIBC Commercial Banking with a view towards building and managing a strong data foundation for the business.


    Enhance the existing data quality within the business, building external data integration, establishing rigor around master data management and building near real-time data access.


    Provide guidance, strategic direction and leadership relative to the management of certain existing technology applications and development and implementation of some new technology applications.

    Experience in domestic/international financial services at the senior management level.

    Marketing, business, technology and product development orientation.

    Strong leadership skills, experience leading product management professionals.

    Effective communication, presentation and relationship building skills.

    Experience leading large, complex projects.

    Excellent analytical, organizational and general management skills.
