POSITION Summary:


The Retail Systems & Logistics Manager is responsible for the systems administration and product flow management ,and will collaborate with key stakeholders on future developments and upgrades to help the retail function reach its maximum potential.

This role will lead the implementation of a new inventory management system, monitor all shipments and PO's, receiving schedules, and inventory control procedures, playing a vital role across all retail operations.


This role will focus on:

  • Working with crossfunctional departments to plan, execute, implement, and enhance retail systems
  • Acting as a technical liaison between the Retail team and Information Technology team
  • Working with Senior Manager, Retail Operations to plan for and manage warehouse operations and recommending opportunities for business improvements
  • Working closely with Finance on month end inventory reconciliation, investigating discrepancies between inventory and accounting systems
  • Preparing and analyzing reports related to inventory management and control, including management of twiceyearly inventory count processes and procedures
  • Coordinating and communicating with internal stakeholders regarding inventory levels
  • Updating, training on, and implementing retail standard operating procedures
  • Assisting the Senior Buyer with promotional and administrative support including set up of and changes to SKUs, price updates, delivery tracking, and product planning
  • Managing a fulltime Retail Administrator and Retail Merchandise Supervisor
  • Developing and implementing logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the retail supply chain and inventory management systems
  • Analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, inventory turnover, and order fulfillment rates, and developing strategies to improve performance
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in logistics and inventory management and implementing new strategies and technologies to improve performance

YOU MUST HAVE:


  • Diploma or relevant training in logistics, warehouse management or related discipline
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience, including supervisory experience in a distribution centre environment and using electronic inventory management systems
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Excellent knowledge of the retail industry, with a sporting goods background preferred
  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • A strong sense of safe practices and the ability to execute and facilitate proper procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workflow and physical layout optimization as it relates to warehouse management
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize as projects arise; ability to work independently
  • Ability to coordinate, plan and organize the work of others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of ecommerce platforms, such as Shopify or Square
