As a registered
Portfolio Manager, you are ready to develop a large nationally innovative private-asset fund to support sustainable development and social equity and strengthen the social finance sector in Canada.

With your experience investing in a wide range of private investments, you are ready to be the lead architect in building out and managing a landmark nine-figure AUM national private impact investment fund.


PRIMARY DUTIES

Portfolio Management & Reporting

  • Be the portfolio manager for and a public representative of the firm's new National Private Investment Fund
  • Lead the team responsible for sourcing, research, due diligence, and evaluation of new deepimpact investment opportunities and existing holdings for the National Private Investment Fund
  • Lead the strategic portfolio construction, modeling, and monitoring of the fund, including developing and maintaining detailed fund portfolio models, building out portfolio cash flows and return expectations
  • Review custodian accounts and internal financial records. This includes assessing cash flow, tracking performance and reviewing asset mix and thematic alignment
  • Lead and execute the National Private Investment Fund cash management including capital calls, disbursements, trade execution, etc.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and initiate any necessary portfolio adjustments
  • Read quarterly investment reports from portfolio holdings, attending quarterly calls and AGMs
  • Oversee portfolio administration including reviewing cash needs and signing off on subscription agreements and other purchase documentation
  • Work with the research and reporting teams to create quarterly and annual reports for stakeholders on impact and financial performance, including writing analysis and commentary
  • Accountable for building and overseeing relationships with investee funds and companies

Stakeholder Management

  • Build meaningful relationships with a complex set of stakeholders including investors, investees, partners, governance committees, and board of directors
  • Arrange and prepare materials for quarterly and annual meetings with various stakeholders. This includes preparing any materials, leading meetings and any followup
  • Ad hoc stakeholder requests

QUALIFICATIONS

On your resume, we ask that you demonstrate the following:

  • 10+ years relevant work experience, including a minimum of 7+ years in private equity, private debt, private real assets, and/or active M&A in a senior role
  • Must have a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, active and in good standing
  • Must meet all criteria to be registered as a Portfolio Manager (Advising Representative) with the relevant provincial Securities Commission
  • Full direct deal and private funds cycle experience, including investment due diligence, operational due diligence, strategy setting, sector evaluation and investment thesis development, sourcing, structuring, legal documentation, closing, portfolio management, and exits
  • Leadership experience, proven success leading and collaborating with highperforming private fund and direct deal teams
  • Prior experience in impact or ESG investing is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with modern, cloudbased digital systems, SaaS, and fully digitized processes
