Overview

Reporting to the President, the Head of Business Development and Partnerships (BD&P) will lead the development and execution of the overall strategic marketing and business development plan and will lead sales and marketing to ensure achievement of financial results.

The BD&P is also responsible for the management of key distribution relationships, increasing penetration, gathering market intelligence and providing product development ideas based on unserved market needs.

The BD&P contributes to the Excess Senior Leadership team and collaborates with the Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Operations to ensure successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:


Responsibilities:


  • Develop the overall national sales and marketing strategy to achieve budgeted financial results
  • Foster the potential of existing broker and MGA relationships
  • Identify and develop new relationships in our target markets
  • Support Operations and Underwriting in leading service commitments
  • Lead large key accounts in coordination with the administration and underwriting teams
  • Conduct appropriate seminars and workshops to present products and sales concepts
  • Participate in industry or MGA events to promote Excess products and enhance brand awareness and industry presence
  • Provide monthly sales and marketing reports to the management team
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement social media strategy
  • Adhere to required legislation related to safeguarding the privacy of client information, conflicts of interest, antimoney laundering and antiterrorist funding legislation
  • Actively participate in the professional development of lessexperiences team members

Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of Business Development / Key Partnership Management Experience
  • College or University Degree or commensurate experience required
  • Insurance Designations an asset (CAIB, CRM etc.) with a strong preference for the CIP.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm and drive
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Competency in MS Office suite of software
  • Strong, established market relationships
  • Ability to manage change effectively
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience working in a Lloyd's Environment (not required, but added benefit)
