Position Summary:


The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will execute human resources activities aligned with the business while ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing legislation, regulations, internal policies and best practices.


Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Corporate, the HRBP plays a strategic role that will ensure HR plans and strategies are closely aligned with and in support of business priorities that will drive a high-performance culture.

The HRBP's strategic focus is on people, organizational structure, and culture, ensuring that we attract, retain and develop diverse talent.


The HRBP will support the development and achievement of business objectives in talent management, talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee engagement and retention, total rewards, employee relations, change management, safety and wellness within their client group.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide HR solutions and best practices counsel to assist client groups in facilitating change, empowering people to make decisions, and actively engaging all levels of the organization
  • Facilitate the implementation and execution of Human Resources programs and processes
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach leaders on employee relations, talent management, and conflict resolution
  • In partnership with the Organizational Effectiveness team, lead the talent management process for business functions, including talent reviews, performance management and succession planning
  • Foster workplace diversity and inclusion
  • Analyze HR metrics and support the business in making datadriven decisions
  • Align with the talent acquisition strategy and process when recruiting top talent to the organization
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including supporting the employee engagement survey process by positively influencing participation and developing survey results action plans with business leaders
  • Foster a culture of recognition through employee recognition initiatives
  • Partner with the total rewards team on compensation related matters, including job evaluations, annual merit cycle, variable compensation, benefits and pension/401K
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices to influence HR strategies, policies and procedures
  • Act as a change agent to support critical business initiatives and support leaders in all elements of effective change management
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practices are followed by staying current with labor and employment legislation and HR industry developments
  • Support major change initiatives and special projects as required

Qualifications:


  • University degree or college diploma; Human Resources certification preferred
  • 5+ years Human Resources experience; generalist experience preferred
  • Advanced HR certification considered an asset (CHRL, PHR, SHRM-CP)
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills
  • Demonstrates agility and the ability to pivot in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and courage to appropriately challenge
  • Ability to coach key stakeholders, peers, and team members
  • HR data analytics experience is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (SharePoint preferred) and HRIS
