Description

The Health Care Aide shall provide personal care and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Home.

Requirements:

Must have a Canadian work permit.
Must be able to commute (1333 Rideau Ferry Road, Perth, Ontario, K7H 3C7).

Available shifts (full-time):

10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. (8hour shift), weekend availability.
52.5 hours biweekly.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner.
Complete scheduled care services required from the resident and document the completion of the assistance and care provided.
Assists with laundry as directed by General Manager.
Cleans kitchen and dining room and sets tables in the dining room.
Administers medication to residents and maintains an active medication administration certificate (training to be provided by the retirement home).
Participates as a member of the care team and provides support to the other members of the Services team; assists with feeding, toileting, and ambulating residents.
Provide bedtime routine care, complete night checks on residents and answer call bells.
Observes and adhere to all policies and procedures, work standards, and safety regulations.
Assists and attends to the care needs of the residents as required.
Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Aware of employees' and supervisors' responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and residents.
Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations.
Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by the task, MSDS, or home policy.
Other related duties as assigned, such as keeping resident rooms clean and tidy, folding their clothes, and taking their temperature and weight.
