What You'll Do

The incumbent's primary role is to minimize the defect claims dollar and unit rates, improve online review ratings and customer quality perception for their assigned business categories by ensuring that the quality of the products meet or exceed the specifications and criteria as set forth by the organization.

The goal of minimizing the return and defective rates in the assigned categories results in a positive impact to overall product sales, margin and more importantly, customer experience.

Manage a team of 5 people accountable for the improvement in defect rates, return rates and online reviews. Direct team on tasks and activities to improve consumer experiences

  • Approval of Quality Management Plans test plans, audits, evaluations, and benchmarking
  • Approval of Acceptance Criteria by product and assortment ensuring that documents include Corporate Minimum Standards, industry certifications, relevant practical and lifecycle testing
  • Manage the review of new product introduction by ensuring vendor submissions meet corporate quality standards. Ensure Quality tasks in execution of product launches are met
  • Cospearhead the progress of projects/products with the Product Development team
  • Review and analysis of test results
  • Analysis and reporting of Product Quality metrics to stakeholders
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders across organization, particularly Merchandising, Branding & Product Development
  • Review of Product Quality projects and levers
  • Product Evaluation, Benchmark Testing, After Sales Service Program and Brand/Marketing Claims statements
  • Providing technical expertise to cross functional teams on Product Quality material

What You Bring

  • 57 years of experience in engineering, quality control/assurance, product development or manufacturing
  • University degree in engineering or technical discipline
  • Product knowledge relevant to their assigned categories
  • Must be comfortable with business travel atleast one a year
  • Proven technical acumen demonstrated within a manufacturing, quality or consumer products environment
  • Product management, design or develop background
