We are currently looking for an experiencedHeavy Duty Mechanic or Commercial Transport Technician (CVIP License is an asset) with experience in a Lead Hand Role for our Spruce Grove, Alberta Shop location.

REMCAN's Mechanical / Fleet group is tasked with maintaining its diverse fleet of rail and non-rail equipment throughout the Western Region.

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the shop, prioritizing and assigning work as required including deployment of mobile field HDM's
Manage and mentor apprentices assigned to location
Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment
Between physical labour, heavy machinery, and emergency repairs, railway maintenance and construction can be a tough environment. Paid safety and hands-on job training

Completion of provincial red-seal apprenticeship in Heavy Duty Mechanics or Commercial Transport
Experience with hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
Class 3 w/ air license would be an asset
Experience with railway equipment an asset
Ability to travel and work in remote locations when necessary
Able to work all types of shifts as required
