Position Summary


The KITE Research institute at UHN is seeking an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to fill a 12-month contract position, with the option of renewal depending on funding.

This individual will work with a project team comprising of key partners and experts in the areas of spinal cord injury (SCI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).


The Neurotrauma Care Pathways (NCP) Project is an initiative funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health to identify and provide options on how to implement integrated Ideal Care Pathways for TBI and SCI across the continuum of care (from pre-acute to lifelong community care).

Our portfolio also includes the development and implementation of standardized indicators to inform quality of care and healthcare system changes.

We produce recurrent system reports for TBI and SCI based on administrative health databases.

A current priority of the NCP is to expand our knowledge about ageing with new and existing TBI and SCI.


Duties


This position is part of a CIHR team grant titled: Integration of brain and spinal cord injury care for older Ontarians: current state and action strategies.


This work involves creating and implementing data creation plans with ICES, reviewing and analyzing demographic and health record data, and converting the data into lay and specialized documents (policy briefs and peer-reviewed publications).


Attributes and Qualifications:


  • Completed their PhD within the last 5 years.
  • Expertise in one of the methodological areas highlighted above.
  • Experience leading the development of diverse forms of publications (e.g., peerreviewed, lay reports, specialized reports, and policy briefs).
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to attend occasional inperson meetings.
