Position Overview:
Located on Granville and 12th, Heirloom Restaurant is seeking a friendly, professional, and passionate Host/Hostess to join our team.
As a plant-forward restaurant, Heirloom is dedicated to crafting exceptional dining experiences that showcase the beauty and flavors of plant-based cuisine.
The Host/Hostess will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring they have a memorable visit from the moment they step through our doors.
Responsibilities:

Guest Welcome and Seating:
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, exhibiting a positive and friendly attitude.
- Manage the flow of guests, taking reservations and walkins efficiently to optimize table occupancy.
- Assist guests with coats, bags, and other personal items as needed.
- Guide guests to their tables, providing them with menus and any relevant information about the day's offerings.

Reservation Management:
- Maintain an organized reservation system, accurately recording guest information, special requests, and table preferences.
- Collaborate with the restaurant team to coordinate reservations and ensure timely seating.
3.
Menu Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of the restaurant's plantforward menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles.
- Answer guest inquiries about the menu, offering recommendations and describing dishes with enthusiasm.
4.
Guest Experience:
- Create a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the restaurant's values and mission.
- Anticipate guest needs and preferences, providing exceptional service to enhance their dining experience.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and sensitivity, seeking solutions to ensure guest satisfaction.
5.
Communication:
- Effectively communicate with the waitstaff and kitchen team to manage table turnover and ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to address any operational challenges and maintain a smooth service flow.
6.
Assistance with Special Events:
- Support the coordination and execution of special events, private parties, and celebrations, ensuring all guest needs are met.
7.
Sanitation and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand and waiting area, adhering to the restaurant's cleanliness standards.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down tables as needed, contributing to overall cleanliness and orderliness.
- Maintaining washroom cleanliness and stock.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for plantbased cuisine and a willingness to learn about the restaurant's offerings.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, especially during busy service times.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
