SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team.

The Specialist, Analytics serves as a technical expert in analytics, advanced query language use, data modeling and data quality, and provides guidance on best practices, techniques and tools for data analysis and visualization.

This position provides technical leadership for the analytics team data analysis group and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven insights that inform business decisions.

Position Details- Non-union - This position is temporary full time for up to 24 months.


Key Accountabilities- Lead and facilitate workshops and engagement sessions to understand and define business, data and analytics requirements gathering; collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business goals into analytical problems and develop data analysis plans that provide actionable insights.- Lead the implementation and testing of analytics solutions through development, user acceptance testing and production environments.- Oversee the deployment, monitoring and maintenance of analytics solutions in production.- Provide technical leadership to data analysts and provide technical guidance and mentorship to help them reach their full potential.

This includes expert guidance on advanced analytics, Key Performance Indicators and business metrics, as well as expert use of query languages to source, manipulate and model data for delivery in analytics initiatives.- Act as the primary point of contact for technical questions and issues related to data analysis and visualization.- Work with data management professionals to consult on reporting, dashboarding and analytics needs in maintaining a robust data architecture and pipeline to ensure accurate, timely and reliable data.- Ensure data quality and integrity through the implementation of best practices, quality assurance processes and automated testing.- Communicate results and insights to stakeholders through visualizations, reports, and presentations.- Stay current on the latest data analysis trends, technologies and tools, and implement them as appropriate.- Participate in the development and execution of company-wide data strategy.- Support, coordinate and re-allocate resources as required for projects and initiatives.- Develop and implement enterprise-wide training program.- Other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.- Eight (8) years of experience in a related field, with at least five (5) years of experience in data analytics.- Strong knowledge of SQL, data visualization and analysis.- Proven experience mentoring and training junior staff.- Experience with Agile development methodology and leading scrums.- Strategic thinking skills and the ability to understand corporate priorities and which actions will drive the most value.- Ability to build relationships, work collaboratively and resolve problems with people at all levels in the organization.- Skilled in facilitation and articulating recommendations to influence stakeholders.- Expert written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to grasp complex technical concepts and synthesize them into clear and meaningful communications for the target audience.- Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business matters and can translate technical considerations into business implications.- Experience with cloud infrastructure is considered an asset.- Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.

Additional Information- Travel away from bid headquarters may be required on occasion.- A Class 5 Driver's License is required.
